Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the greater Washington DC area, just 45 minutes south of the city. This part-time contract opportunity focuses on providing essential OT services in an educational setting, with start and end dates from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027. While the specific schedule and number of schools are still being finalized, the need for your expertise is both pressing and impactful.

Your background in school-based occupational therapy will help empower students of varying age groups to reach their fullest potential. You’ll collaborate closely with educational teams and families to develop and implement tailored interventions, build functional skills, and promote student independence within the learning environment.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and active Occupational Therapy license for the state of Virginia
• Experience in school settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work well with students, staff, and parents
• Capability to adapt to changing caseloads and scheduling
• Ability to fulfill time-sensitive credentialing, including a VA Department of Social Services background check (to be initiated right away) and a TB test

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ functional needs and develop individualized OT intervention plans
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services based on IEP and school goals
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams for optimal student outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Communicate progress and recommendations effectively to staff and families
