On-Site IT Support Technician – Tier 1

About the Role:

Iron Grid Networks is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) providing IT support and technology services to businesses throughout the Southeast. This position will be employed by Iron Grid Networks and assigned full-time to support one of our clients, Centurion , at its Jacksonville facility.

Centurion operates multiple locations throughout the United States. This role will provide hands-on IT support in Jacksonville while also assisting employees at six additional Centurion locations remotely.

Position Overview:

The technician will serve as the primary on-site IT resource for the Jacksonville facility and provide Tier 1 support for common issues involving computers, printers, software, user accounts, and network connectivity. More complex issues will be escalated to Iron Grid Networks' senior technical staff.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site Tier 1 IT support at the Jacksonville facility.
• Provide remote technical support to six additional Centurion locations.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, software, user accounts, and connectivity issues.
• Assist with computer setup, replacements, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Perform basic network and hardware troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate notes and updates in the ticketing system.
• Assist remote engineers and network administrators with on-site troubleshooting when needed.
• Escalate issues requiring Tier 2, Tier 3, or network administration support.
• Maintain basic IT equipment and inventory documentation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with users and Iron Grid Networks staff.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous help desk, desktop support, or IT support experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, printers, networking, and Wi-Fi.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote technical team.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certifications are a plus but not required.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, on-site position at Centurion's Jacksonville facility. The technician will be supported by Iron Grid Networks' service desk, network administrators, and senior technical staff and will be expected to recognize when issues should be escalated.
