To learn more about GSCY, visit our website: Somerset Hills YMCA is looking for a friendly, administratively focused Member Service Representative who is responsible for serving members, guests, and program participants in a prompt, and courteous manner. You not only build relationships by being an ambassador of the Y's Welcoming and Inclusive culture but are also responsible for advancing the organization's Cause-Driven initiative, problem solving, and performing computer/administrative tasks to best serve the branch's 10,000+ members. Position Summary A Member Service Representative's primary responsibility is to ensure our members have “the best hour of their day” from the moment they enter our facility until the moment we wish them farewell. This is accomplished by engaging and providing members, guests, and program participants with an exceptional experience that exceeds their expectations. This job is fully on-site, not remote. This position will be scheduled for 8 hour workdays from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm with an unpaid half-hour break during each shift. Somerset Hills Branch Membership Hours Sunday: 6:45 am – 8:15 pm Monday-Friday: 4:45 am – 10:15 pm Saturday: 5:45 am – 8:15 pm Essential Functions Responds to member and guest requests, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the Welcome Center area. Assists with membership administrative activities. Assists with conducting Cause Driven Tours to prospective members, visitors and program participants. Assists SRMSR with phone/email follow up with new members throughout 30,60,90 days Supports program registration on and between registration dates and assists in implementing logistics to support phone, walk-in, and web-based registrations. Assists in the planning and executing of member appreciation events. Assists Coordinator with Kids Corner staffing needs Supports the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign. Attend meetings as assigned. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required and one year of member/customer service, hospitality, or other job-related experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar programs. Strong customer service, computer, writing and communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem-solve and provide conflict resolution. Able to work independently without direct supervision and in a team environment. Flexible in adapting to changing situations, procedures, and varying situations. Experience with diverse populations a plus. Fundraising experience a plus. Bilingual and multicultural experience a plus. Able to work a non-traditional workweek (i.e. late evenings and weekends). Work Environment & Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
