Bookkeeper

Experienced BookkeeperOur client, a well-established residential home builder in Sanford, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is ideal for a bookkeeping professional with experience in the construction or residential real estate industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate financial records.ResponsibilitiesManage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)Process invoices, billing, payments, and customer/vendor accountsPerform bank, credit card, and account reconciliationsMaintain the general ledger and prepare journal entriesEnsure accurate financial records and supporting documentationAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesPrepare financial reports and account summariesSupport payroll processing and related documentation as neededReview financial records, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptlyWork closely with the CFO to support the company's day-to-day accounting operationsQualifications3+ years of recent bookkeeping experience requiredConstruction or residential real estate industry experience strongly preferredProficiency with QuickBooks requiredStrong knowledge of:Accounts Payable (AP)Accounts Receivable (AR)Bank and credit card reconciliationsGeneral Ledger maintenanceJournal entriesBilling and invoicingAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently while managing multiple prioritiesAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredPre-Employment RequirementsSuccessfully pass a QuickBooks AssessmentSuccessfully pass a Reference CheckSuccessfully pass a Background CheckCompensation & Benefits$25.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experienceStable, full-time opportunityWork directly alongside the CFOOpportunity to become a key member of a growing residential home builderLong-term career growth with an established company
