Through strong leadership, elevated service standards, financial stewardship, and operational excellence, the Food & Beverage Manager ensures every culinary and service touchpoint reflects the warmth, refinement, and hospitality of our historic property while supporting memorable guest experiences and embodying Meyer Jabara Hotels' values of empowerment, accountability, and excellence. Position OverviewThe Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and performance of all food and beverage operations, including Apropos Restaurant, bar and lounge operations, room service, banquets, catering, and special events. This position drives exceptional guest satisfaction, employee engagement, operational efficiency, and financial results through hands-on leadership, training, service excellence, and adherence to company standards. The Food & Beverage Manager oversees staffing, scheduling, inventory management, beverage controls, tip administration, and departmental profitability while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. Key ResponsibilitiesFood & Beverage OperationsOversee daily operations of Apropos Restaurant, breakfast/lunch/dinner service, banquets, and room service.Ensure consistent execution of luxury service standards across all food and beverage outlets.Collaborate with culinary leadership to coordinate menu rollouts, promotions, seasonal offerings, and special dining experiences.Manage banquet event orders (BEOs) and ensure successful execution of all corporate, social, and wedding eventsMaintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and operational efficiency throughout all outlets.Guest Satisfaction & Service ExcellenceMaintain a visible presence in dining and event spaces to ensure superior guest experiences.Resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and in accordance with brand standards.Review guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction metrics and implement action plans for continuous improvement.Develop initiatives that enhance guest loyalty and drive repeat business.Leadership & Team DevelopmentRecruit, train, supervise, and develop front-of-house food and beverage team members.Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary.Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusiveness, and service excellence.Ensure associates understand and execute established operational and guest service standards.Financial Management & Administrative OversightManage departmental budgets, labor costs, and operating expenses to achieve financial goals.Monitor revenue performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.Oversee purchasing, inventory controls, and cost management for food, beverage, supplies, and equipment.Review daily sales reports and operational metrics to ensure accurate financial reporting.Tip Administration & ComplianceOversee all aspects of employee tip administration, including tip pooling, tip distribution, and tip reconciliation, where applicableVerify the accuracy of reported tips and ensure proper documentation and reporting procedures are followed.Work closely with payroll and human resources to ensure tip payments are processed accurately and timely.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour regulations related to gratuities and tipped employees.Investigate and resolve tip-related discrepancies, employee questions, and concerns.Special Events & Beverage ProgramsLead planning and execution of special dining experiences, holiday events, wine dinners, and promotional programs.Partner with culinary and beverage teams to enhance menus, beverage offerings, and guest experiences.Assist in developing marketing initiatives to increase restaurant visibility and revenue.Safety, Sanitation & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, liquor laws, and company policies.Maintain all required permits, certifications, and operational documentation.Promote a safe and secure work environment for guests and associateConduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.Qualifications3–5 years of F&B leadership experience in hotels or upscale dining.Strong understanding of front-of-house service standards.Proven skills in team training, coaching, and guest recovery.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
