Showroom Sales Manager

THE THREE BRANDS YOU REPRESENT

Neue Maison — Luxury furniture specializing in natural stone, brass, and handcrafted design. Every piece has a story — where the onyx was sourced, why the brass is treated a certain way, what makes the design distinctive. You will know every one of those stories by heart. The Grotto — A 5,000 sq ft design showroom in Downtown Los Angeles. A destination, not a pop-up. Open 5–6 days a week with consistent presence and a manager who builds real relationships with repeat visitors. Newman Studios — Full-service interior design and material consultation. High-interest showroom clients get referred here. You are the first point of contact in that pipeline.

WHAT YOU’LL DO — DAILY

Open the showroom each morning — lights, music, espresso machine, everything set to editorial standard before the first visitor arrives Greet every visitor — offer espresso or a glass of wine, walk them through the space naturally, never push Know every product from memory — name, price, materials, dimensions, origin, and the story behind the design. You sell the story, not just the object Handle sales conversations — answer questions, discuss customization options, process orders through Shopify Manage the floor — when a piece sells, stage a replacement from the 4th floor warehouse before the next morning. The showroom never has an empty spot Maintain the space at all times — every surface clean, every product perfectly positioned, flowers fresh, lighting correct. The showroom must look ready to photograph at any moment Track daily foot traffic, conversations, and sales in a simple log Flag VIP visitors and high-interest clients for design consultation follow-up Answer phones and emails promptly — professionally representing the brand in every interaction Coordinate meetings and appointments for trade client services Support leadership with creative decks, presentations, and internal documents as needed Close the showroom each evening — secure products, lock up, set alarm

WHAT YOU’LL DO — WEEKLY

Monday morning update — weekend traffic numbers, sales closed, hot leads, stock that needs replenishing Coordinate incoming inventory — know what’s arriving and when, prepare display space accordingly Refresh vignettes disrupted by sales — maintain zone layout at all times Photograph the showroom weekly for review and social media content

REQUIREMENTS — MUST HAVE

3–5+ years of experience in luxury retail, gallery management, interior design showrooms, or high-end hospitality — you’ve worked in a space where the average transaction is $1,000+ and the client expects to be treated like the most important person in the room Design literacy — you can speak to materials, craftsmanship, and style with genuine knowledge. You know the difference between marble and onyx, brass and gold-plate, handmade and mass-produced Presentation — how you dress, how you carry yourself, how you speak. You are the brand in this room and should look like you belong in the space Proven ability to operate independently — you own the space, take initiative, and don’t need constant direction Detail obsession — the showroom must look perfect. Not good. Perfect. Every time. If a cushion is crooked you fix it before you make your coffee Strong administrative and coordination skills — managing email, scheduling trade client meetings, and supporting the team with creative and operational tasks Results-driven — you understand that commission means your success and the showroom’s success are the same thing Tech comfortable — Shopify POS, client email, Google Sheets, iPad, Mac Based in or near DTLA with a reliable daily commute

STRONG PLUS

Interior design background or education — you can speak to clients about how pieces work in a room, not just as standalone objects Sales experience with high-ticket items — you understand the psychology of luxury purchases and never rush or pressure Social media awareness — you can photograph the showroom and post to Instagram stories without being asked Bilingual — our DTLA clientele is international

COMPENSATION

BASE PAY

  • $4,000-$8,000 / mo *based on experience
  • 42,000 — $48,000 annually

COMMISSION RATE

3 — 5% on closed sales. Tracked through Shopify.

MONTHLY SHOWROOM SALES • YOUR COMMISSION

  • 20,000 / month — $600 — $1,000
  • 30,000 / month — $900 — $1,500
  • 50,000 / month — $1,500 — $2,500
  • 75,000 / month — $2,250 — $3,750
  • 100,000 / month — $3,000 — $5,000

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and mobilize items up to 25 lbs utilizing appropriate equipment and technique Ability to maneuver effectively around the showroom floor, stock room, warehouse, and office Use of freight elevator to move and stage inventory between floors Role includes prolonged periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing
