Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify emotional, social, and environmental factors impacting students and their families, related to their diagnoses or life situations.

• Formulate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing a variety of social work interventions designed to meet the specific needs of each client.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, ensuring that families are actively involved in the development and execution of care plans.

• Facilitate discharge planning by working with consulting physicians, education professionals, and other healthcare providers to ensure a smooth transition for students and their families.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on adapting to illnesses and emotional challenges, empowering them with coping strategies and resources.

• Utilize crisis intervention techniques and offer brief and long-term therapy options, including individual, group, and family therapy sessions as needed.

• Serve as a resource for colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise in social work practices to enhance overall team effectiveness.

• Evaluate oncology patients regarding anxiety and depressive symptoms, providing crucial short-term counseling when necessary.
\n
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hour patient needs, ensuring continuous care availability.
\n
• Independently facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act when clinically necessary, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Deliver presentations at educational conferences as an expert in psychosocial oncology, enhancing community understanding and support for cancer survivors.

• Engage with the community through outreach services, educational initiatives, and consultation to promote available resources for mental health support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The LCSW will primarily work with students aged K-12 in various educational settings, addressing a wide range of psychosocial issues. Client challenges may include emotional distress related to academic performance, family dynamics, mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, and adjustment disorders. Collaborating with educators and families is essential to create a supportive network for children, facilitating their emotional and educational success.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program. A Master's degree is preferred.

• Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
