Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions either in-home or at our outpatient center, focusing on tailored interventions that meet the unique needs of our clients.

• Implement evidence-based strategies for anger management, coping skills, and social skills development, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Guide clients and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage and respond to behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals for comprehensive support, ensuring all therapeutic practices are in alignment with organizational goals.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical guidelines.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to provide insights and recommendations for program improvement and client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and teens aged 3 to 20 who exhibit developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This role entails working closely with families and caregivers, offering critical support in various areas of mental health, behavior management, and emotional well-being. The diversity of our client population requires culturally competent approaches, particularly in working with bilingual Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM); weekend availability is a bonus.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes are essential.
\n
• Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience delivering positive behavior support strategies is highly desirable.
\n
• Previous work with children and teens, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
