Position Summary The I‑CARE (Infectious Complications Assessment and Research) lab at Boston Medical Center / Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine focuses on improving outcomes for individuals with or at‑risk for infections such as HIV and hepatitis C. As Program Manager, you will plan and manage the execution of research initiatives, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline targets are met and supporting the PI in achieving research objectives. Job Responsibilities Research Project Implementation: Work with the PI to recommend, create, and implement changes across the research portfolio; provide program‑level direction to study coordinators on protocols, SOP/MOPs, data collection procedures, clinical and data quality plans, instruments, and training materials; facilitate protocol adherence, data and clinical quality assurance; ensure timely and accurate data collection and timeline adherence; input on data cleaning, analysis, and report preparation; contribute to recruitment and retention strategies; develop presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts with lead or co‑authorship opportunities. Regulatory and Financial Management: Develop and submit annual progress reports to external funding agencies/sponsors (e.g., NIH); manage IRB protocols, including development, amendments, training compliance, adverse event tracking, and progress reporting; develop budgets with the PI; conduct regular budget tracking and forecasting; serve as liaison with funding sources and regulatory agencies; maintain clear communication and compliance. Administrative Support: Ensure smooth integration of study components; prepare communications on progress and findings; monitor guidelines and policies for compliance; coordinate monthly research meetings; schedule and lead other meetings; assist with identifying funding sources and preparing grant proposals (literature searches, budget preparation, support material assembly, writing sections, submitting applications). Personnel Management: Lead staff selection in accordance with policies, guidelines, and laws; train, mentor, and commit to quality and excellence; monitor productivity, identify training needs, conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary; maintain personnel files, time‑off records, payroll requests; supervise graduate interns, residents, and research assistants. Education Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with an emphasis in public administration or public health. Experience Minimum five years of related work experience, including one year of leadership or supervisory experience.
