Accounts Payable Specialist LaSalle Network is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist for an immediate contract opportunity with a leading global trading and financial services organization in downtown Chicago. Following a recent Oracle implementation, the accounting team is navigating parallel processing, organizational changes and increased transaction volume. As a result, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist who can step in quickly, make an immediate impact and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is not a traditional invoice-processing role. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist will bring strong accounting judgment, understand how accounts payable impacts the general ledger and feel comfortable working within a complex, multi-entity, multi-currency environment. Strong performers may have the opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract term. What's the job? Process and review high-volume accounts payable transactions, averaging approximately 1,000 invoices per month Manage invoice approvals, coding and payment processing across multiple entities Support journal entries and account reconciliations related to AP activity Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues Work within Oracle ERP while supporting ongoing transition activities Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Collaborate with accounting leadership to maintain accurate financial reporting Support AP operations in a global, multi-currency environment What's needed? 2-3+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar accounting-focused AP role Experience working in a global, multi-currency environment Understanding of journal entries, reconciliations and AP-to-GL processes ERP experience required; Oracle experience strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred Ability to work independently with minimal training or ramp-up time Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and accounting judgment Financial services or similarly complex industry experience is highly preferred What's in it for me? $30-$35/hour compensation LaSalle Network consultants are eligible to enroll in benefits.
