Assistant Project Scientist - Orthopaedic Research

Position Overview Salary range: $77,100-$98,900. Position Description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis Health seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Project Scientist. This research role focuses on musculoskeletal innovation, including stem cell biology, molecular biology, mouse genetics, bioengineering, and biochemistry. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, scientists, and university partners to develop innovative projects and support program education. Responsibilities Engage in independent and collaborative research in musculoskeletal innovation with a particular emphasis on age‑related diseases, stem cells, biomedical imaging, or genetics. Support undergraduate, graduate, and residency educational activities in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Participate in service and scholarly activities to advance the mission of the department. Provide service within the musculoskeletal research arena and relevant professional societies. Basic Qualifications Terminal degree (M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D.). Established track record of research excellence in musculoskeletal health. Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse community, leveraging partnerships across UC Davis Health, the NCI‑Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Colleges of Engineering, Biological Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, and Shriners Hospital for Children. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated peer‑reviewed research in musculoskeletal health with emphasis on stem cell biology, molecular biology, mouse genetics, bioengineering, or biochemistry.
