Access and Security Manager (FAC MGT SPEC 4) Application Deadline: July 13, 2026 at 11:59pm Location: Davis, CA, United States Employment Type: Full‑time, 100% on site Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations for Student Housing and Dining Services, the Access and Security Manager is the department’s expert in access and security regulatory compliance, procedural and policy administration, and system operation. This role develops and implements high‑level access control strategies, performs continuous risk assessments, and manages the day‑to‑day operations of hard‑key locks, card‑key systems, mobile and SEOS credentials, doors, gates, roll‑up doors, and alarm systems. The manager leads the technical integration of campus systems, oversees renovations and new builds, and serves as the liaison to UC Police, Design and Construction Management, and other university departments. The position also supervises the Fac Mgt Spec 3, Fac Mgt Spec 2, and Access and Security PPM staff. Key Responsibilities 40% – Access and Security System Technical Expertise, Development and Management 30% – Supervision of staff and operations 20% – Access and Security Systems Design, Construction Reviews and Project Management/Support 10% – Building Automation Support Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in facility or construction management, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in reviewing technical data, equipment specifications, and construction documents related to access and security systems, door hardware, and mechanical/electrical installations. Experience in managing, developing, testing, and repairing door access control systems and door hardware. Demonstrated ability to supervise trade union staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Knowledge of California Building Code, OSHA, fire/life safety regulations, ADA requirements, and construction trade terminology. Experience with electronic and mechanical access control systems, integration/testing, and understanding of mechanical master key schemes. Budget management skills, including cost forecasting, accounting principles, and strategic planning for remodels, upgrades, and capital projects. Preferred Qualifications Certified Locksmith LenelS2 Certifications (LCA, LCP, or LCE) Strong interpersonal communication skills for negotiation and conflict resolution. Leadership and decision‑making experience in coordinating meetings and training staff. Analytical skills for evaluating large datasets and identifying efficiency opportunities. Salary $94,700 – $177,300 annually (subject to departmental budget of $101,332.44 annually). Salary is reviewed annually.
