Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating day/night schedule based on departmental needs (reviewed every 4-week scheduling period). Weekend shifts as needed per unit requirements. Patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts. 72 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Join a newly established 12-bed specialized palliative care unit focused on symptom management and quality of life for patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses
• Work with an interdisciplinary support team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide
• Opportunity to enhance palliative care skills while maintaining medical-surgical competencies through floating to equivalent or lower acuity units
• Primarily serve adult and geriatric patient populations with focus on comfort, dignity, and comprehensive symptom management
• Previous travel experience and first-time travelers both welcomed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain interventions and equianalgesic dosing of opioids
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
