About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12-Hour (Days and Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV certification required Must-Have: - Strong communication skills - Critical thinking skills - Multitasking abilities - Experience with EPIC EMR preferred - Ability to float to lower acuity units if needed Description: R/O positions will not have a fixed rotating schedule. Shifts will be assigned based on organizational needs. Travelers may be scheduled primarily on nights with the flexibility to work days when required, or vice versa. The schedule includes weekdays and some weekends. Key Responsibilities: Start and manage IVs. Administer medications safely. Monitor vital signs and patient responses. Educate patients on treatments and self-care. Collaborate with the care team on patient plans. Use EPIC EMR for charting. Follow hospital policies and maintain patient safety. Patient Ratio: 4 patients per nurse on days, nights, and weekends. Floating to different units will be required as needed. Patient Age Groups: Adults and geriatrics. Daily Census: 23 patients. Additional Information: Unit supports various healthcare services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Patient diagnoses include a wide range of general medical issues. Special procedures performed include Foley catheter placements, PICC line management, IV therapy, and more. This is a mixed medical-surgical unit with a focus on providing comprehensive care.
