Journeyman Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot motors, drives, gearboxes, pumps, valves, conveyors, and automated production systems. Repair and replace machine components while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Electrical & Automation Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical control systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints. Diagnose electrical circuits, sensors, relays, VFDs, and control devices. Support robotic and automated manufacturing equipment as needed. Preventive Maintenance Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Complete scheduled PMs and document maintenance activities using the CMMS system. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects. Safety & Quality Follow all OSHA, company safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure repairs meet company quality standards and support uninterrupted production. Promote safe work practices while working collaboratively with production and engineering teams. Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers, and Production personnel to resolve equipment issues. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures. Support new equipment commissioning and process improvements. Qualifications Required Journeyman Certification (Electrical, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, or equivalent skilled trade). Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting skills in: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Automated production equipment Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation. Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aluminum die casting , automotive manufacturing, or Tier 1 suppliers. Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Fanuc automation systems. Familiarity with robotics, conveyors, servo systems, and industrial controls. Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software.
