AI Intern | Entry-Level Software Engineer

Salary: $60,000 - 95,000 per year Requirements:

• Hands-on coding experience gained through coursework, personal projects, or internships
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and web or backend fundamentals
• Ability to learn quickly and contribute in an Agile environment
• Bachelors degree

• Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement in D.C. or Virginia
• Ability to pass a coding assessment, background investigation, and drug screening
• Preferred: projects demonstrating AI-assisted development, such as AI-generated tests or AI-supported refactoring
• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms, databases, or CI/CD
• Preferred: interest in security, privacy, and handling sensitive data

• Develop in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and APIs across the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and delivery
• Join technical solutioning and design discussions
• Carry out proofs of concept and end-to-end solution work throughout the development process
• Add new features while improving efficiency, reliability, and scalability to meet client needs
• Promote AI-assisted DevSecOps practices to accelerate secure containerization of legacy applications while maintaining compliance
• Build and maintain AI-enhanced CI/CD pipelines that generate security policies, container settings, and infrastructure-as-code templates from application needs and best practices
• Use AI coding tools for implementation, refactoring, and documentation in line with team guidelines
• Create unit and integration tests to improve coverage and reduce defects
• Speed up pull requests with AI-assisted reviews, summaries, and risk notes
• Use AI to search logs and documentation to troubleshoot issues and unblock work
• Partner with product, design, security, and compliance teams to deliver production-ready increments
