We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a team based in Rockville, Maryland. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity for someone who is comfortable working on-site and can step in quickly to manage core accounting tasks with accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate brings practical experience across payables, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting, along with confidence using Sage 100 and intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and maintain timely accounts payable activities.
• Support payroll administration by reviewing payment details, helping ensure accurate and punctual employee compensation.
• Record financial transactions and maintain organized bookkeeping records to support daily accounting operations.
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
• Assist with accounts receivable tracking, payment posting, and follow-up on outstanding balances as needed.
• Prepare month-end closing support, including account analysis, journal entries, and reconciliation schedules.
• Use Sage 100 and spreadsheet tools to manage financial data, generate reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy while preserving confidentiality and financial integrity.• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or general accounting experience in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Hands-on experience handling accounts payable, payroll, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Sage 100 and working knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, analyze, and maintain financial data.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, month-end close support, and routine financial recordkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an in-office setting.
• Availability to start next week and commit to a long-term contract assignment.
