Bookkeeper (Hybrid) | Jobot The Tone: This is a full-time hybrid role at a fast-growing public accounting firm, located in Northeast Ohio. The firm provides tax, audit, and accounting services to a diverse client base across various industries. This role is crucial for delivering essential day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting support to clients, offering significant training and growth opportunities within a supportive and family-focused team environment. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: Hybrid Northeast Ohio Pay: $60000–$80000 yearly Team: Supports multiple clients within an accounting team Mission: To ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping, payroll, and reporting for a diverse client base. Tech Stack: QuickBooks (desktop and online), MS Excel What You’ll Actually Do Transactions: Code and accurately enter bank statement transactions and other bookkeeping activities for a variety of clients. Reconciliations: Complete month-end processes and reconcile client bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy. Reporting: Prepare payroll reports, sales tax returns, year-end tax forms, and financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Payroll Administration: Administer client payroll, including onboarding/termination updates, pay rate and deduction changes, timesheet review, direct deposit processing, and payroll tax deposits. Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely and responsive communication to support their accounting needs. The Must-Haves Background: Professional with foundational accounting knowledge and a commitment to continuous learning in a public accounting setting. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll; demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks (desktop and online). Skills: Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills; high proficiency in MS Excel; proven analytical and critical-thinking skills; comfortable working under deadline pressure.
