Field Technician I

Construct, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and dismantle meteorological towers and remote sensing units Perform technical tasks at various wind and solar project sites Complete daily Job Hazard Analysis safety documentation Communicate with the manager through Slack for daily updates and coordination Log hours daily for DOT compliance and track time in ADP for timecards Drive and operate DOT-certified trucks and trailers in the field Clean, maintain, and inventory tools and equipment Travel frequently to project sites for extended 1–2 week stays Build knowledge of tower operations under a lead technician’s guidance Operate heavy machinery and hand and power tools safely Participate in project planning with team input Maintain professional conduct across remote and construction sites Support Harness Energy’s wind and solar field-services mission Requirements No previous experience required; training provided High school diploma or GED preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Slack Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving abilities and creative thinking Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in the field Ability to work safely in diverse weather conditions, remote locations, and construction areas Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to drive and operate DOT-certified trucks and trailers safely Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and hand and power tools Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently Ability to perform manual labor safely Ability to stand on feet for up to 12 hours per day Willingness to travel frequently and stay in the field for 1–2 weeks at a time Subject to criminal and MVR background checks Subject to pre-employment DOT drug testing Subject to DOT physical assessment Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in operating DOT-certified trucks and trailers, heavy machinery, and hand and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
