About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in development, working closely with the CEO, staff, and Board of Directors to drive revenue and advance fundraising strategies. This includes securing public and private support, aligning resources, and funding for initiatives. The VP of Development will also be tasked with creating and managing a portfolio of prospects, overseeing grant writing, and leading efforts to improve public policy and secure support for solutions to homelessness. Applicants for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years' of progressive experience in a similar role. Comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and development is essential, as is the ability to maintain professional development in market and business trends. The role requires a candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to build and nurture relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and a proven track record in project management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, committed to equity, and capable of inspiring investment in the organization's mission. Supervisory experience and a proactive, self-directed approach are also key competencies for this position.
