Staff Accountant

About the Company Our client is a well-established manufacturer in the medical device space, specializing in radiofrequency technology used in minimally invasive spine, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. Backed by a global parent organization, the company combines the stability of an international group with the close-knit, hands-on culture of a smaller team. They are relocating to a brand-new office in Woodbury, NY, in the coming weeks. The Opportunity This is a hands-on operational accounting role offering broad exposure to the full accounting function. You will work closely with a Senior Accounting Manager and an AP/AR Specialist, gaining experience across general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end close. It is well suited to an accountant looking to build out their skill set, or a more experienced accountant ready to bring senior-level judgment to a role with room to grow. What You Will Do Support month-end close processes and prepare complex journal entries Perform account reconciliations, including corporate credit cards and bank activity Process vendor payments and review employee expense reports Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules, including depreciation entries Monitor cash activity, customer accounts, and billing across multiple properties Analyze monthly financial results and investigate variances Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis Identify process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 3 or more years of accounting experience with exposure to general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations. Healthcare or medical device experience is a plus but not required Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting Strong Excel skills and comfort working within an ERP system Sharp communicator who can think on their feet and work well cross-functionally Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment Compensation and Benefits Base salary in the $65,000 to $80,000 range, plus discretionary bonus Medical, dental, and vision coverage Approximately 13 days of PTO plus 5 sick days Additional company benefits and employee programs This role is based onsite five days per week at the company's Long Island location.
