Program Manager

The Mining and Petroleum Training Service (MAPTS) is recruiting for a program manager capable of managing purchases, grant reports and budgets, timely and with high accuracy. Ultimately, the position targets an independent, detail‑oriented individual looking to take ownership of administrative and financial workflows within an organization that provides industry‑specific training for Alaskans. The hired individual will be specifically responsible for authorizing expenditures, monitoring ongoing fiscal activity, and managing the overall budget. Additionally, the position serves an organization known for delivering critical industry services, including industry training camps, MSHA compliance, and IADC certification for Well Control for oil and gas professionals. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must be a reliable, responsible, and proactive professional who thrives under limited supervision. Success requires a strong background in financial oversight, specifically the ability to forecast expenditures accurately and manage complex grant reports. Finally, an individual will thrive by seamlessly blending administrative competence in Google apps with the communication skills necessary to support Alaska's specialized industrial training sector. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2 years of comparable experience and training, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental subjects. Knowledge of accounting theory and generally accepted accounting procedures. Knowledge of grant administration. Position Details This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula campus in Soldotna, Alaska, and requires on‑site work. This is a full‑time, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
