Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Special Education Teacher supporting a center-based program for middle and high school students. This contract opportunity runs from August 13, 2026 to June 4, 2027, and you’ll work closely with a manageable caseload of six students, providing focused, transformative instruction to individuals who need it most. The program is based near Lakeview, MI in a supportive, collaborative school environment.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in special education or a related field is required
• Current, active special education teaching licensure in Michigan
• Experience working with middle or high school special education students is highly desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for fostering growth, independence, and success in diverse learners

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with team members and families
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s unique learning needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
• Maintain detailed, accurate records in compliance with requirements
• Act as a positive advocate for students, supporting them both academically and socially
• Partner with related service providers, general educators, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
