Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing specialized support as a Special Education Teacher within an elementary school environment near Lakeview, MI. This position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 4, 2027, serving a small caseload of 3–5 students in a satellite classroom setting located in a general education building. The role is full-time, five days a week, with 7.25 billable hours per day (excluding unpaid lunch), designed to foster meaningful student growth in a collaborative and supportive educational atmosphere.
What You’ll Bring:
- Master’s degree in special education or a closely related field
- Current and active special education teaching licensure in the state of Michigan
- Expertise in elementary education and personalized instruction for students with unique learning needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and areas of need
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure a holistic, inclusive learning experience
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies within a mainstream building
- Maintain compliance with Michigan’s educational guidelines and required documentation
- Observe, track, and report on student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
