Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team in San Diego, CA.Work Schedule: 2nd Shift:Monday - Friday2:00pm - 11:30pmJob ResponsibilitiesSupervise the day to day operations of the Department/Lab Name departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededMinimum QualificationsAssociate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology4 years or more of experience as a Technologist/TechnicianCA State CLS license requiredPreferred Qualification:Current or prior Labcorp experienceBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyASCP or AMT certificationAdditional Job StandardsStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsprevious supervisor/leadership experienceUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
