Acute RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency requirements. Acute care settings include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units. Essential Responsibilities:
Licensure: Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board. Work Environment: Part-time position with 1st shift hours in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest region.
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
- Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
- Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
- Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
- Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
- Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
- Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
- Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
- Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained.
Licensure: Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board. Work Environment: Part-time position with 1st shift hours in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest region.
