Tax Manager

Tax Manager — Public Accounting The Tax Manager is responsible for managing multiple tax engagements, overseeing complex tax compliance and planning matters, developing client relationships, and providing leadership and technical guidance to the tax team. This role works closely with partners and clients to deliver high-quality tax services while managing engagement profitability, deadlines, and staff development. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple federal, state, and local tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities. Review complex tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Oversee tax planning and identify opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and manage tax risks. Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax issues. Serve as a key client contact and build strong, long-term client relationships. Lead client meetings and communicate tax issues, recommendations, and planning opportunities. Manage engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, and deliverables. Supervise, mentor, and develop Seniors, Supervisors, and Staff Accountants. Review workpapers and tax returns prepared by engagement teams and provide technical guidance. Coordinate with partners and other service lines on complex client matters and special projects. Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess their impact on clients. Assist with IRS, state, and local tax audits and examinations as needed. Participate in business development activities, proposals, and client acquisition efforts. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and additional services. Assist with recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and career development of tax professionals. Maintain responsibility for engagement quality, client service, and overall profitability. #LI-CC1
