Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while being an integral part of our school's mental health initiative. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You may need to accommodate occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends to provide comprehensive coverage for student mental health services. Flexibility for on-call availability is essential, particularly in addressing urgent mental health needs that may arise outside regular hours.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, carefully evaluating their personal histories, presenting issues, and risk factors to craft precise treatment plans.

• Collaborate with students to develop tailored treatment strategies aimed at enhancing their emotional health and ensuring successful integration into the school environment.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapies.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, aiding students in personal growth, emotional regulation, and therapeutic coping skills.

• Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure a holistic approach to student care and treatment coordination.

• Be available for crisis intervention during emergency mental health situations, employing de-escalation strategies and determining appropriate referrals when necessary.

• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources in the broader community to foster understanding and autonomy.

• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to all relevant legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid LCSW license in New Jersey.
