A respected litigation-focused law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding Long Island, New York practice. This position is ideal for attorneys seeking meaningful litigation experience, hands-on case responsibility, and the opportunity to develop sophisticated advocacy skills while working closely with experienced litigators and business clients.

The successful candidate will handle a broad range of commercial disputes involving businesses, employers, real estate interests, and regulatory compliance matters. Associates will gain exposure to all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, court appearances, negotiations, and trial preparation.

This position rarely becomes available at this level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities

• Draft, argue, and manage substantive motion practice in state and federal courts

• Appear before courts and administrative tribunals on behalf of clients

• Develop and implement strategic discovery plans

• Conduct and defend depositions involving fact witnesses and corporate representatives

• Analyze legal issues and develop case strategies for complex business disputes

• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and litigation-related filings

• Assist with trial preparation, witness preparation, and evidentiary development

• Advise clients regarding litigation risks, strategy, and dispute resolution options

• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings

• Handle commercial litigation, employment disputes, real estate-related litigation, and compliance matters

• Manage multiple active cases while maintaining responsiveness and exceptional client service

• Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals on sophisticated litigation matters

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of commercial litigation experience preferred

• Active admission to the New York Bar

• Experience drafting substantive motions and legal briefs

• Strong discovery and deposition experience

• Courtroom experience preferred

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
