Registered Nurse - Med/Surg - Night Shift

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a night shift schedule, working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned unit. Ensuring quality care is delivered efficiently and safely, the RN demonstrates performance consistent with the unit's standards and organizational goals. The RN will treat patients, families, staff, and physicians with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patient systems systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care within established timeframes.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on evaluations of patient outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
• Participate in patient and significant others' health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current RN license in New Mexico or a current Compact state license.
• BLS certification from AHA is required.
• Knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
