About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be a broad-based generalist with experience in economic sanctions, AML, anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, cyber security, trademark and brand protection, and litigation. This role is pivotal in supporting the various functions at the corporate level and requires a highly collaborative individual with independent legal judgment and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities include conducting reviews and administering the firm's sanctions screening program, managing the privacy and cybersecurity program, and serving as a legal lead in incident response. The role also involves managing the firm-wide trademark portfolio, providing legal support on disputes, and drafting and maintaining relevant policies and procedures. Applicants for the Vice President, Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor degree, active bar admission, and a minimum of 5 years' of relevant legal experience, with a preference for those with in-house or financial services experience. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of OFAC sanctions administration, AML/KYC concepts, and political contribution and pay-to-play pre-clearance regimes. Substantive familiarity with US state privacy laws and UK/EU GDPR is essential, as is experience in trademark, litigation, and regulatory investigation/enforcement. The role demands the ability to operate across legal disciplines, manage a mixed workload, and communicate effectively. The candidate should be proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently while being responsive to the needs of internal business partners.
