Database Administrator

Salary: $30,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically 6–10 years of experience; the posting also requests 10+ years of IT experience managing and administering Oracle databases in Linux environments.
• Experience designing and modifying relational database structures, such as Oracle Database or SQL Server.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across multiple technical environments.
• Good understanding of Oracle architecture and internals, with DBA experience managing Oracle 12c/19c and later versions.
• Experience with Oracle database upgrades and patch management, Oracle ASM administration, RMAN backup and recovery, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Experience identifying and tuning SQL queries using Oracle technologies, and automating DBA tasks with shell scripts or other programming languages.
• Experience implementing and administering Oracle GoldenGate replication; experience with Oracle Exadata Cloud at Customer and SQL Server administration are advantageous.
• Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS and Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Exadata, Oracle ZFS, Oracle ZDLRA, Linux, and Shell, Python, SQL, or PL/SQL scripting.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking in database management, along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

• Provide day-to-day administration and support for hundreds of Oracle databases, including monitoring, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Work with internal teams to respond to client issues and support requests.
• Monitor database availability, storage capacity, and performance; perform database backups and restorations.
• Improve database performance by tuning SQL statements, making architectural changes, and configuring database parameters.
• Standardize and automate environment management.
• Provide rotating on-call support for database environments, including weekend coverage.
• Evaluate new database features and functionality.
• Set up and maintain Oracle GoldenGate services for client data replication.
• Lead the design and implementation of database management solutions that support changing business needs.
• Establish monitoring and optimization practices to maintain database performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database strategies with organizational goals.
• Develop and enforce database policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by introducing innovative solutions and emerging database technologies.
