To learn more about working at the SFPUC, visit our career site here.Job Description Under direction of the Assistant General Manager for Water, the Water Resources Division Manager will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of water conservation, recycled water, purified water, and groundwater programs (collectively “alternative water supply”) to help meet future water supply needs for the SFPUC’s retail and wholesale customers. The Manager will be responsible for managing teams to 1) direct the development and implementation of alternative water supply programs and multiple water conservation and water supply projects; 2) direct long-term studies regarding alternative water supply and conservation/demand management; and 3) coordinate needs to help inform decision-makers and the public about program implementation. Communicating program development, particularly on new water supply projects and water supply demands, will be an important function of this position. Candidates must meet all the requirements established by the MQs to be considered for the position. Possession of a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; ANDAt least eight (8) years of professional experience in water supply planning and/or strategic planning; and project management; of which three (3) years must include experience supervising/leading teams of professionals. Education Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years. One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units. Note: One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours.
