Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a Cardiac Stepdown unit. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing services to patients requiring close monitoring and intensive care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer primary nursing care to cardiac patients, ensuring individualized treatment plans
• Monitor patient telemetry, interpret cardiac strips, and respond to arrhythmias promptly
• Perform procedures such as fingerstick blood sugar testing and medication administration using Meditech and Pyxis systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and manage complex cases
• Ensure safety and compliance with all hospital policies, including equipment use like BIPAP and cardiac monitors
• Float to other acute units, including medical, surgical, pediatric, ICU, and ER departments as needed

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Hawaii RN license prior to start date
• Have at least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience, with preferred telemetry and progressive care experience
• Demonstrate strong skills in telemetry monitoring and primary nursing responsibilities
• Possess current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS and PALS are preferred
• Maintain NIHSS certification or be willing to obtain it
• Able to adapt to floating across all in-house acute care units
