About the Role

The Company is in need of an Associate Vice President, Investment Counsel with a focus on P&C insurance. The successful candidate will be a key member of the in-house legal team, providing trusted legal advice and support for a wide range of institutional and alternative investment activities. This includes structuring, reviewing, and negotiating various investment-related agreements, as well as advising on legal, regulatory, governance, and operational matters that impact investment activities. The role also involves supporting entity management, board governance, and general corporate legal matters, and requires the ability to work closely with internal business partners to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice. Applicants must have a J.D. with an active U.S. bar admission and approximately 5 years' of relevant transactional legal experience. While not mandatory, familiarity with the P&C insurance industry and experience in private markets or fund activities are highly valued. The ideal candidate will have a background within an institutional investment organization, asset manager, insurance investment group, financial institution, or a law firm with a strong investment funds, private equity, or asset management practice. Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced business environment.
