Your positive, collaborative approach, sense of humor, and eagerness to contribute to a supportive, team-oriented work environment will make you a valued member of the team.Every day brings new opportunities and here is a snapshot of how you’ll make an impact!Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Cultivate cross-functional relationships by meeting regularly with AR and Account ManagersConduct Trust & Retainer fund auditsLead monthly check-ins with your AP, AR, and Trust & Retainer team membersWelcome new client relationships by reviewing and signing vendor formsExecute wire paymentsWork with the Accounting Director on daily cash positioning and fund availability and own the daily cash picture by analyzing cash report spreadsheetsServe as the go-to expert for expense reimbursement questionsApprove ACH payments, ensuring funds flow seamlessly to vendors and partnersMonitor AP and AR communications and ensure rush requests and special instructions are handledManage trust and retainer fund transfersPartner internal audit on monthly bank reconciliations and investment account reviewsReview and distribute the Firm’s 1099s on an annual basisWork closely with the Firm’s internal auditor on escheatment completion annuallyProjects & Process Improvement:Lead account analysis and approval initiatives in coordination with cross-functional partnersManage vendor master file maintenance, including inactivation of unused vendorsIdentify and implement improvements to AR payment processing and client payment platformsSupport team initiatives including banking relationship management, cash management optimization, and system integration projectsCollaborate with the Accounting Director to roll out a virtual card process and contribute to the Firm’s loss prevention initiativesLead the implementation of the payment request approval workflow.Experience and QualificationsActive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standingBachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management roleStrong knowledge of GAAP and internal controlsExperience with banking platforms (e.g., JP Morgan Access) and expense management systems (e.g., ChromeRiver)Ability to balance active operational involvement with effective team leadership, including troubleshooting issues and assisting with complex accounting mattersStrong understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities and processes performed by accounting team members, with the ability to step in and provide hands-on support when neededAbility to provide clear direction, guidance, coaching, and ongoing support to direct reportsExperience with banking platforms and expense management systemsStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the legal industryFamiliarity with trust and retainer accountingKnowledge of electronic invoicing and AP automation toolsExperience collaborating with Treasury teams on cash management, banking operationsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and law firm accounting software (Aderant)Snell & Wilmer offers a competitive performance-based compensation and a generous benefits package starting on your first day.
