Job Description
Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Job Description A critical access facility is seeking qualified Medical Technologists (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) for a 13-week assignment. The position involves rotating shifts, with a standard schedule of three 12-hour days per week from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following an initial week of training. Responsibilities
- Perform essential laboratory tests and analyses.
- Conduct microbiology testing, including gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures.
- Administer blood bank testing as required.
- Draw blood and carry out phlebotomy with proficiency.
- Adhere to Covid regulations and policies regarding personal protective equipment and isolation procedures.
- Assist in staffing by filling in for Thursday night shifts and picking up vacancies as needed.
- Work holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
- Effectively multitask and prioritize responsibilities within the laboratory environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members.
- Graduation from an approved Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technician program.
- Experience in microbiology is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet departmental demands.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to work as part of a team.
