Job Overview The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES Obtain proper approvals of invoices prior to processing Enter vendor invoices accurately and timely into accounting system Prepare, review and process weekly payment run for approved vendor invoices Professionally communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and address payment inquiries Review and reconcile statements Assess and apply use tax on purchases in compliance with applicable regulations Other duties may be assigned Qualifications Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Experience: good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting experience in addition to computer skills and good numerical skills High degree of accuracy and has excellent data entry and oral communication Must be able to work well with others and meet deadlines Preferred Skills Problem Solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner Planning/organizing – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently Leadership Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
