Staff Accountant (up to $80k/yr)

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a non profit partner located in St Paul MN needing to add to their accounting team!

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting functions for the organization.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Assist with external audits and tax preparation activities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
• Collaborate with operational and leadership teams on financial matters.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
