TheChemistry DepartmentatWesleyan University invites applications for an open-ranktenure-trackProfessor of Chemistrypositioninany ofthe areasencompassed byexperimentalphysical,computationalphysical,orinorganicchemistry,withan expected startdate ofJuly 1, 2027.The successful candidatewill be expected to develop avibrant, externally funded research program involving bothgraduateandundergraduate researchers.Candidates shouldalsodemonstratepotential for excellence in teachingatboththeundergraduate and graduate levels.Special considerationwill be given to candidatescapable ofteachingcoursesinbothintroductory and advancedtopics ofphysicalchemistryor inorganic chemistryfor both undergraduate and graduate student populations.Additionalduties include advising and mentoringstudents andparticipatingin faculty governance at the departmental and university level.Candidates who have demonstrated success in working with diverse populations and whose researchcould contribute to Wesleyan’s interdisciplinary programs(including,but not limited to,theCollege oftheEnvironment,theCollege of Integrative Sciences,andtheCollege of Design and EngineeringStudies)are especially encouraged to apply.Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship and teaching,has an engaged anddiverse student body,and offerscompetitive salaries, start-up funds, and benefits,as well asagenerous sabbatical program.
