Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication in Audio Production The School of Humanities at Penn State Harrisburg is accepting applications for a non‑tenure line Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication with demonstrated professional expertise and/or experience in audio production. The position will commence in fall 2026, with a possible spring 2027 start if needed. Position Requirements and Preferences Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Communication or a related field with an emphasis on audio production. A doctoral degree in Mass Communication or Communication with a focus on audio production is preferred. Prior college‑level teaching experience, advising, and mentoring students is desired. A master’s holder will be hired as Lecturer; a doctoral holder as Assistant Teaching Professor, the degree must be completed before employment start. Responsibilities The faculty member will: Supervise the campus radio station. Teach courses in Beginner and Advanced Audio Production, Mass Communication, and News Reporting. Provide hands‑on audio production experience aligned with the new streaming campus radio station. Teach 12 credits per semester (24 credit hours annually) and participate in university service and public outreach. Appointment Details The appointment is fixed‑term, non‑tenure, one year, with reappointment possible based on performance, program needs, and budgetary considerations.
