Job Description And Duties This position is a Limited Term position for 12 months which may be extended to 24 months or may become permanent. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position. The Program Support Unit is a service-oriented unit responsible for providing analysis, guidance and assistance to the Division and institutions on issues related to fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and institution resource needs. The Unit plans and reviews custody position staffing at all institutions associated with bed activations and deactivations. In addition, the unit provides oversight, training, and direction regarding custody and food service positions, to ensure conformance to policy and reconciliation to budgeted position authority. The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process.
