Job Summary: As the Junior Accountant, you will work underneath the Controller and alongside the Finance team in cash reconciliation, cash management, and bank reconciliation. This entry-level role will provide you with a chance to learn about how a Non-Profit operates-with exposure to grants, contracts, and Fee-for-service-in addition to providing cross training in various areas of finance and accounting software. What You Will Do: Maintain general ledger by reconciling key accounts including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaid accounts and accrued liabilities. Adjusting entries for amortization of prepaid expenses, analyzing accounts payable transactions, preparing fixed asset depreciation and other accrued liabilities. Provide financial status information by preparing special reports, completing special projects. Review and analysis of contract expenditures. Prepare budgets and periodic reports for contract reimbursement. Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Participate in the implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures. Support other team members as needed including accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking transactions Assist with the preparation for annual audit and tax return filings What We Are Looking For: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 2 years knowledge and experience in bookkeeping/accounting A valid driver's license and insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy Studies have shown that women, communities of color, and historically underrepresented individuals are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet all the qualifications.
