Senior Data Modeler Location : Mc Lean, VA - Hybrid The Opportunity We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Modeler to design and evolve enterprise data models supporting complex mortgage and financial-services data environments. You will work across business and technology teams to translate complex data requirements into scalable, well-structured models across relational, document-based, and semi-structured data. This is a hands‑on data modeling role for someone whose core expertise is enterprise data modeling, rather than data engineering with occasional modeling responsibilities. About You: You are an experienced Data Modeler with deep hands‑on expertise designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models within complex enterprise environments. You understand how data moves across systems and can make thoughtful modeling decisions across relational, document-based, and semi‑structured architectures. You bring strong mortgage domain knowledge, communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, and are comfortable challenging assumptions and proposing better solutions. As a Strategio Senior Data Modeler you will: Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with enterprise business and technology requirements. Develop data models across relational, MongoDB/document-based, and semi-structured data environments. Model complex JSON structures and translate business requirements into scalable data structures. Partner with business, architecture, engineering, and data teams to define entities, relationships, standards, and data requirements. Support enterprise data integration and ETL/data transformation initiatives by ensuring consistency across source and target models. Work with Snowflake and SQL to validate data structures, relationships, mappings, and implementation requirements. Apply mortgage domain knowledge to accurately model complex business concepts, processes, and data relationships. Identify modeling, data quality, and integration issues proactively and recommend practical solutions. Contribute to enterprise data architecture, modeling standards, documentation, and design reviews. Core Skills Strong hands‑on enterprise data modeling experience, with data modeling as a primary professional responsibility. Expertise designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for complex enterprise systems. Recent hands‑on MongoDB experience, including document-based data modeling. Strong, recent mortgage domain experience across mortgage-related systems, processes, or data. Strong proficiency in SQL and hands‑on experience with Snowflake. Experience modeling JSON and other semi-structured data. Strong understanding of data integration, ETL, data mapping, and enterprise data architecture. Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, scalable data models. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams. Independent problem-solving and leadership mindset, with the ability to proactively identify issues and contribute solutions. Nice-to-Haves: Experience supporting Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae environments. Experience with multi-family mortgage or housing finance data. Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks. Exposure to cloud-based data platforms beyond Snowflake. Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments.
