About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available on 4-week rotations**Highlights:** - Progressive Care Unit with 34 and 25-bed units serving a diverse patient population requiring intermediate-level care- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on day shifts and 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts with dedicated tech support on each unit- Experience with advanced respiratory support (BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm), cardiac drips (heparin, insulin), peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management- Meditech documentation system; collaborative care environment with strong teamwork culture- Opportunity to perform specialized procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube management, and central line care- Contract length: 13 weeks with high extension rate among travelers**Requirements:** - Current RN license in good standing- BLS and ACLS certifications required- Strong critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation ability- Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips- Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion- Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization patients preferred- Peritoneal dialysis experience strongly preferred- Experience with tube feedings, NG/Dobhoff tubes, and multiple oxygen delivery systems**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This PCU position offers an excellent blend of critical thinking challenges and supportive teamwork in a "care like family" culture.
