About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) to serve as its Chief Academic Officer. The successful candidate will be a visionary, collaborative, and student-centered leader responsible for expanding educational access, driving academic excellence, and ensuring student success and completion. This role involves providing leadership in teaching, learning, and academic program development, as well as fostering partnerships with external stakeholders. The VPAA will also be tasked with supervising and evaluating academic deans, supporting faculty and staff development, and overseeing key academic support areas. A key aspect of the position is to serve as an external advocate for the institution, cultivating partnerships to align academic programs with the needs of the community. Applicants for the VPAA position at the company should possess a doctorate or law degree, with at least 7 years' experience in the higher education field. A strong preference is given to those with a background that includes 5 years of full-time teaching experience. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, collaborative, and inclusive, with a deep understanding of and commitment to the mission of the institution. They should be capable of promoting the values of inclusion, civility, and principled leadership, and demonstrate a positive attitude. The role requires a leader who can engage in strategic planning, support accreditation efforts, and ensure the availability of resources and technologies that enhance teaching and learning.
