What You'll Do: The Recreational Therapist performs a wide range of patient care activities in a behavioral care setting including but not limited to:
- Develops therapeutic recreation activities program consistent with the planning process.
- Assesses patient's physical, social and emotional needs within 72 hours of admission.
- Conducts assessment through patient interview and observations.
- Identifies individual problem areas.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient need.
- Establishes a schedule of therapeutic recreation activities for all patients as required.
- Participates in staff and team meetings.
- Utilizes creative, recreational and occupational therapies.
- Organizes, plans and implements therapy activities.
- Monitoring, planning and implementing patient transportation as needed for out trips.
- Maintains community contacts for the purpose of referral development.
- Minimum education/training requirement is a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation field; CTRS required.
- At least one year of experience in an Activity Therapy field preferred (music, art, recreation, fitness), preferably in a facility setting.
