** Job Description **

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to manage our day-to-day financial records and support the financial operations of our growing kitchen and bathroom remodeling business.

The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, understands job-cost accounting, and can ensure project expenses, customer payments, vendor bills, and company financial records remain accurate and up to date.

** Key Responsibilities **

• ** Financial Management & Reporting: ** Maintain complete financial records in QuickBooks, perform bank/credit card reconciliations, and prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow, A/R aging). Support month-end/year-end closures and coordinate with our CPA for tax filings.
• ** Accounts Payable & Receivable: ** Manage A/P (vendor invoices, scheduled payments) and A/R (customer invoicing, deposits, progress payments, collections).
• ** Job Costing & Project Tracking: ** Track materials, labor, subcontractor payments, and change orders. Maintain job-cost reports specific to kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects.
• ** Payroll & Compliance: ** Process payroll (or coordinate with provider), track sales tax filings, collect/maintain subcontractor W-9s and insurance certificates, and prepare annual 1099 forms.
• ** Process Improvement & Confidentiality: ** Resolve accounting discrepancies, recommend workflow improvements, maintain digital/physical files, and uphold strict data confidentiality.

** Qualifications **

• ** Experience: ** Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• ** Industry Focus: ** Background in residential construction, home remodeling, or job-cost accounting is strongly preferred .
• ** Technical Skills: ** Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• ** Education: ** Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (equivalent hands-on experience accepted). CPA is not required.
• ** Core Competencies: ** Strong knowledge of A/P, A/R, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger. High attention to detail, time-management skills, and problem-solving abilities.

** Preferred Skills **

• Hands-on experience managing project-based customer deposits and subcontractor tracking.
• Familiarity with contractor compliance records (W-9s, 1099s, insurance certs).
• Experience using project management, estimating, or construction software.
