Payroll Coordinator

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY Detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly union payroll using Dayforce. This role involves auditing and reconciling timekeeping information, maintaining HR & payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES Process weekly union payroll for all employees using Dayforce, in accordance with our Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. Audit and reconcile timekeeping information accurately. Maintain and update employee payroll records relating to schedules, shift rotations, pay policies, work assignments, work locations, etc. Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve and reply to all payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations as well as garnishments and union dues. Process special payroll requests such as raises, bonuses, retroactive pay, and adjustments. Assist with the preparation of weekly payroll reports as well as ad-hoc reporting for management and internal/external audits. Sort and distribute live payroll checks for pick-up by center representatives. Collaboration in the office is an essential job function, for effective communication and cross training. Coordinate with HR on employee status changes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters. Maintain employee route assignment system of record. Support HR and Operations in educating employees on payroll processes and Dayforce system usage. General office duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in a similar payroll role. Experience in the related transportation industry. Experience with payroll ERP systems (Dayforce – preferred). Knowledge of HR processes and procedures. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance. Experience in handling payroll for a large organization. Proficient in Microsoft Excel/ Word/Outlook skills. Strong Data Entry Skills.
