An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client / Trusts & Estates Attorney to join an established Private Client practice within a highly regarded national law firm in Chicago.
The position is suited to an attorney with a sophisticated, tax-focused trusts and estates practice advising high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices and closely held businesses.
The Role
You will advise sophisticated private clients on matters including:
- Complex estate planning.
- Estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax.
- Wealth-transfer strategies.
- Trust and estate administration.
- Family-office matters.
- Business succession planning.
- Closely held businesses.
- Fiduciary income tax.
- Advising trustees and executors.
- Drafting sophisticated estate-planning documentation.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- 9+ years' estate planning experience .
- A strong tax-focused trusts and estates practice.
- HNW and UHNW client experience.
- Estate, gift and GST tax expertise.
- Sophisticated wealth-transfer planning experience.
- Trust and estate administration experience.
- Strong client relationship skills.
- Active Illinois Bar admission .
